I'm getting a chest cold..and the half marathon is saturday!!!

UGH. Been training for months. I was really excited for it...my husband started training right along with me when he got back from afghanistan and he is really looking forward to it as well.

But my ears and throat hurt and i feel like crap. I don't know what to do..I guess see about an antibiotic even though I prob don't need one just yet???

Any advice?? I am supposed to do an hour run today, don't think i can do it...

That sucks! Same thing happened to me before my fist half marathon. I don't take antibiotics, so I just rested as much as possible and went easy on the workouts the week before, took lots of vitamin c. That morning i felt grrat (must have been the excitement) and i got through the race. The next day I was soooo sick.

drink lots of fluids and rest. also, you might want to try cold eze or airborne. even if that stuff doesn't *actually* work, often times it's mind over matter!

I feel for you---I'm also sick and have been training for this race for months! I have been trying to take it easy and haven't ran yet this week. I am loading up on vitamin C and trying to get as much sleep as possible.

If anything, I'm just going to give it all I've got on Sunday and suffer the consequences after.

Thanks ladies...I appreciate it....going to try all those things and pray that saturday brings good health!! (and no rain which is now heading to the DC area!! BLAH!!)
