Re: So who is getting their leprechaun on?
MEEEEEEE!!!
I was planning on making last minute rounds for more stuff right after work but I am WIPED out from work this week, never got more than 4 hours sleep any night.
I'm not making as much specialty food this year so hopefully that will cut down on an hour or so of prep. My DD told me she won't eat the green pancakes but they want to make a trap right now
My house already looks trashed maybe the leprechaun could clean this year. I think I'll text DH and tell him to pick up Lucky Charms on the way home.
Barb, you've created a monster

Re: So who is getting their leprechaun on?
Barb, just want to say thank you so much. Before your posts a few years ago (I think DD was 2 at the time), I never heard of such a thing. I thought it was awesome and couldn't wait for DD to be older to "get" it.
Since then I started teaching Pre-K and every year we do a leprechaun catcher and cause ruckus in the classroom & the kids love it.
This was the first year I did something at home & it was a HUGE hit. I got on video their reaction as they got up from bed with glow in the dark necklaces, animals on the fan, coins on the floor; through the living room w/ a line of shoes, diningroom table with animals in green hats on green blocks; gold coins at the bottom of her rainbow picture, glitter all over; shamrock plates w/ green bagels; bubbles, green beach balls and more glitter. From one room to the next she ran through going, "wow, look what he did here and there; wow," and Jack following, saying, "wow, wow, Gracie-Bear."
Too too cute & so worth it! Thank you Barb!

Re: So who is getting their leprechaun on?
I feel bad but I just didn't do anything exciting today. That would have required me to stay up PAST Emily's bedtime last night and I think I fell esleep about 3 seconds after I tucked her in! I was just so tired last night! I guess it has something to do with being 39+ weeks pregnant!
I feel bad, but hopefully I will make up for it next year. She seems OK with it. We had a fun day with her cousin anyway, so she wasn't thinking much about the fact that the leprechan didn't come!

Re: So who is getting their leprechaun on?
I had my nephews (ages 6 & 9) over this weekend so they got in on the action too! We built a trap, made a chair out of lego's and served green apples - all ideas that came from the kids. They woke to clothes strewn all over the house, green milk, lucky charms cereal, and chocolate gold coins. The lephrechaun escaped the trap by cutting a hole in the back. They really had a lot of fun with it and I wanted to do more but I was hosting 30 people on Saturday and didn't need any extra mess!

Love the free apple enticement!
My kids had a great time. I'll have to add to my report but the new theory is that Joseph is really the leprechaun since he stayed up the latest (2am!) "waiting for the leprechaun", suspiciously didn't build a trap & his hair was dyed green while he was sleeping.
