Wilson
I am trying to get my principal to send me to get trained in Wilson. We have Fundations kits and materials at my school, but no one is trained in how to teach it. I do my best with the manual, but I want to get certified for prof. development purposes. Is anyone on here a Wilson teacher? I have a few questions to ask before I talk with my principal on Thursday.

I've taught foundations for 3 yrs. 1st gr. do you have the cd to show you how to teach each part?
I watched that and it eloped a lot, but we also had Wilson people come in and check in on us

Re: Wilson
I am Wilson certified in the Wilson Reading System and in Just Words. (these are different than Fundations, as Fundations is for classroom use - general education) where Wilson and Just Words are Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions for struggling readers.
I absolutely think your principal MUST get a trainer in.... it's a great program when it's done right. it is also a K-2 program, so ALL teachers teaching it must be on the same page, otherwise the kids will be confused and it won't be as successful (each year builds on the previous year).
FM if you need to,

ditto to this. I am certified in Wilson and Just Words (which is what we mostly use now) It gets the kids done quicker with the program. EVERYONE should get the Fundations training in your school. It will only be beneficial to the students in the long run. I know my one son gets it in his shool. All the elelentary teachers are trained in Fundations. It is part of the curriculum.
