Excess Letter- When did you receive one?
I was told I will most likely be excessed. Things always change and they also want to see what happens with the budget. They anticipate adding some sections, but there are still two people ahead of me that will be placed first.
If you've been excessed when did you receive an official letter? What was your next step? Was it eventually retracted? I hate not knowing what's happening!!!

Re: Excess Letter- When did you receive one?
I was excessed on March 13th. My superintendent, principal, and chairperson told me directly - there was no letter. The chances of me being brought back are close to 0%. They cut over 40 FTE and as of right now they may be able to bring back 2 positions due to getting back slightly more state aid. At this point, I doubt my union is giving a concession.

In order for anything to be official they have to put it in writing. I'm assuming they just didn't do it yet. Unless you feel a mistake was made in regards to your seniority leveI I don't think there's anything the union can do, unfortunately.

Two years ago when I was excessed I didn't receive my letter until June 17th (no warning).

I don't think they can make it official until the boe approves it after the budget vote. I just found that out yesterday.

Yes. DH got a "you might be excessed" letter right before Feb break. But nothing is set in stone until the budget is set and voted on. Right now after concessions it is looking like he is ok but it def. depends on the vote.
