Hi all,

Looking for some leads on swim lessons for a 3.5 year old boy who is very active and a sensory seeker. Anyone have any information?

Thanks!!

Re: swim lessons

My 3.5 year old active son goes to Saf-t-swim. The reason why is because it is one to one ratio. At this time, I would love to enroll him in a community pool class, but I cant trust that he is going to stay focused, listen to the instructor, and not wander off.

Re: swim lessons

I have both my sons in swim lessons at Safe T Swim. Besides speech for Christopher, swimming is the next best thing I pay for him. It is so worth every penny ( I know it can get pricey).

DS takes swim lessons and loves it!!!! We go to a local JCC and it is $$$ but well worth it. Had a two week break for Easter/Passover and back this Saturday. Can't wait!

Re: swim lessons

My DS is on the spectrum and is sensory seeking. We also use saf-t-swim. Swimming is a great activity for him, since he gets a lot of sensory input. It's almost like another session of OT for him.

I would ask if they have instructors at that location who are good with kids with special needs. We lucked out with our first instructor, but when I found out he was leaving, I started scoping out the other ones for a replacement. Some are much better than others.
