runners- help me decide!
Should I run the LI half or 10 k?
Due to a previous back surgery I am really not "supposed" to run. I do anyway because I am addicted and running is like a drug to me.
Anyway I have done halfs in the past. I have always trained for them and gotten decent times (1:40ish).
I really want to do the LI half this year but I really can't train and do multiple long runs bc of my back. I have run up to 6 miles with the double jogger with no problem. I am going to try one longer run maybe 10 miles next week by myself but just wondering if I should just sign up now (if you still can).
Do you think I could finish the half without fully training? should I go for it?

Eta: my back doesn't hurt when I run or at all for that matter. I'm not worried about injuring it by doing the half marathon, the Dr is more concerned with prolonged.running over time.

Honestly, I think you should stick with the 10k. They'll be other halfs! You don't want to injure yourself and put yourself out of commission even longer. I know it sucks, but at least you're still able to run right now. It would suck even more if you couldn't run at all!

If you are going to run one, I would pick the 10K. There is not need to hurt yourself.

Thanks for the advice girls...I may not be running anything...I got that crazy cramping by my c section scar again today after my run. Calling my Dr on Monday
