Re: Stress?

I hear keeping a journal by your bed helps. If you have something on your mind, try writing it down and it will usually ease your thoughts.

Re: Stress?

OK it may sound crazy but I've been reading this book about the brain and it's really helping. It basically teaches you on how to focus only on what's "real". Discard ALL of the "what if's". Refer to anything negative or not real as deceptive brain messages and once they pop in your head STOP and refocus on real life. It goes into debth on how to do this and I never thought it would help. Is it a cure, no but has it helped me relieve some stress, yes. Try it, you'll be amazed how much you worry over things that may not ever happen. At least that's what happened to me.
Hope you feel relief soon!

Re: Stress?

Try melatonin take it about 30 minutes before you go to sleep. Since my doctor recommended it I have been able to fall asleep easily for the first time in my life.

Re: Stress?

Thanks for the responses ladies. It's not that I can't fall asleep its that I wake up in the middle of the night and stay up for hours and won't fall back asleep. And the belly issues are strange I never had this knot feeling before. Ugh ugh ugh! Today's a new day!

Stay off coffee and chocolate. Caffeine is a major anxiety culprit.

Re: Stress?

To relieve stress, I work out. Seems to help. I do 30 mins cardio and weight lifting. If I don't work out, I am a crazy, stressed out lunatic.

Yoga!

When I miss several days, I have so much anxiety, muscle tension and my heart starts to race.

Re: Stress?

I'm not saying this is a solution but you may want to speak to a doctor about temporarily being on some type of anxiety medication. I have gone through periods of middle of the night wakeups and taking anxiety medication helped me. I did not become addicted to it and at some point I just grew out of it. If it starts to happen again (usually happens when I'm having trouble at work or other), I could always take medication again.
