Post Nasal Drip/Cough?
OMG it's driving me nuts. I was sick 2 weeks ago with a bad cold/upper respirtory infection but holy shit! This post nasal drip/dry cough will NOT go away now. I am up dry hacking half the night. I cough so hard I gag. Then all day it's every 5 minutes of a quick dry hack. Hack Hack Hack
It's killing me.
I took a Zyrtec today hoping it would dry up the drip. Nope.
My throat just feels so dry and irriated.
Any advice on how to get rid of it?

Re: Post Nasal Drip/Cough?
This happens to me each and every winter and many times I have it for months.
I did get a nasal spray from my Dr once that helped.
Sorry I don;t have more. Most of the times it just took time.
I had it so bad during my pregnancy my cough was causign me to pee

Re: Post Nasal Drip/Cough?
Nose spray helps.
Not the over the counter tho, you need a prescription.
In the meantime, you can try the Neti-Pot. It def. helps

Re: Post Nasal Drip/Cough?
I take musinex since I always seem to be pregnant or nursing. But my dh and ds both take Flonase. It helps both of them and I am so jealous I can't take it lol It helps ds with his post nasal drip and now I can't hear him breathing on the other side of the house since it keep the swelling down in his nasal passages.

Re: Post Nasal Drip/Cough?
For the dry cought I swear by Delsym. It's a cough suppressant, not a decongestant or expectorant.
It is thick, but that's what you want to coat your throat and keep the irritation away. Works for 12 hours.

Re: Post Nasal Drip/Cough?
The tesselon pearls work great. get a script.
Also if you are not allergic to codeine there are so good prescrption liquids.
Finally the flonase should help but you need to be regular with it and keep using it past a week. Some docs actually say to stay on a month.
I have it now too but mine is pharyngitis.
So freakin annoying.
