I have a bad feeling *happy update post on bottom

I am 16 weeks 4days. The last time I got a sono was at the NT test at 12 1/2 weeks. Everything came out fine and we saw the baby. I go to see my obgyn on Wed but can't seem to shake this bad feeling that something is wrong and the baby's heart has stopped beating. I don't have any symptoms except that I don't feel or look pregnant. This is my second pregnancy and have a healthy DD. I don't know why this is bothering me so much. I know everyone worries, but this feeling has overcome me and I can't seem to stop thinking about it. Has anyone else had this feeling and can you please tell how to handle this. I don't know what to do to stop thinking this way. Thanks for listening, I didn't know where else to turn.

I have a bad feeling

Call your Ob and express your worries and stress. I am sure that they've had women who often are stressed out- which we all know isn't good for baby. He/She may put your mind at ease with a sono/checkup. Remember not everyone is showing so soon, either. My cousin barely showed at 24 weeks!
Good luck and please keep us posted... I am sure you are fine.

Re: I have a bad feeling

I have the same worries every other week still at almost 20 weeks. I will have a sono and be fine for a week but then that second week having to wait til my next apt I'm a ball of nerves. I'm terrified something went wrong in that 2 weeks and they aren't ok anymore. I have an apt this week and I'm on pins and needles. I need them to check heartbeats before anything at the sonos.

I'm sure it's normal for us to be this way. Or maybe we are all just nutsChat Icon

Re: I have a bad feeling

i felt like this around 16-18 weeks or so too. i didnt particularly look pregnant, i didnt feel pregnant. i had felt flutters around 15w and then nothing for awhile and i was nervous. but everything was fine. it is really the only time all pregnancy i was irrationally nervous. i did have a doppler though so it def helped although around that time i started to get nervous that i was hearing veins and not the heartbeat...go figure Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I have a bad feeling

i agree with the ladies..maybe if you call your OB they can move up your appt? It is completely normal to have those thoughts even without any real reasoning. Its what IF does to usChat Icon

i have been going for cervical length checks every 2 weeks so i think that has been keeping me calm but if i had to wait 4 weeks i probably would be nervous too.

Good luck and everything should be okChat Icon

Re: I have a bad feeling

I am 15 weeks and its only been alittle over2 weeks and I keep freaking out that everything is ok. I am having my 16 week bloodwork next week and I am going to ask if i can have a sono or at least check the heartbeat. Even if it isnt covered by insurance I would do a sono or ask your OB just for peace of mind. I feel you Chat Icon

Re: I have a bad feeling

I don't think it's irrational to worry. The fact is, bad things can and do happen- but sometimes you need to take a step back and remind yourself that bad things can happen at ANY point in pregnancy.. and in life.. and it's not good to let that worry take over! If you think it would make you feel better, definitely ask for a sono. Chat Icon Hopefully as the pregnancy progresses you will feel more confident that things will go well Chat Icon

I found that to be the hardest time, too. You're no longer being closely monitored on a regular basis, 1st trimester symptoms have worn off, and now you just feel like a slightly chubby version of yourself. Also, having gone through infertility, you want this SO BADLY, and the idea that it can be "gone" just like that is so very frightening (and can consume you).

That said, once you start feeling movement (within the next few weeks), it will ease your mind a bit. Hang in there. Chat Icon

Re: I have a bad feeling

I went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure was HIGH! I was so nervous but thank goodness, I heard the heartbeat and it's 152. I talked to my dr. about how anxious and nervous I am about it. She told me to relax and that all my numbers from my NT scan were great and I need not worry. However, they took blood to check for Spina Bifida and of course that's all I can think of now!
