Anyone have a 'sensory' playroom?

We're re-doing our playroom this summer and I just wanted to see some ideas that other people have done with theirs. So many times I've seen beautiful sensory playrooms on shows like Extreme Home Makeover. Anyone do anything like that?

I wish we had the money for those, but we just tried to get as many sensory type things in our basement playroom as we could. We have a trampoline, ball pit, tunnel and tent, big therapy ball, slide, beanbag chairs and a low balance beam. We also have a small table and chairs set where they can play (while supervised only) shaving cream games, sensory boxes, finger painting, etc. In addition to all the "regular" toys....it's a disaster down there, lol.

I have a nook in my house for sensory stuff. I have a lite brite (also good for fine motor skills), moon dough, playdoh, fake snow in a box, water beads in a box, a big squishy chair, rope lighting.
Target sells really good fidgets in their $1 section. Another good thing is take water bottles and fill them with glitter and coloured water.
I've considered turning our upstairs hallway closet into a small sensory room and using chalkboard paint on the walls and putting in a small black light in there.

I have a "sitting" area (in the corner of the room). with different texture pillows, mat, blankets, etc... We are going to switch the playrooms soon. I will add his play tent too that we used to use for his "quiet" area.

I want to create a sensory garden too. I have to check the one at his school because they have one.

Did you check the one at the LICM? They have a sensory room them as a demo.

One thing... I can't have busy wallpaper pattern in his playroom or DS stims looking at it.

The one they have at his school is similar to the one at LICM. They have the wall of moving light and the "humming" sounds.

Temporarily I used the New Baby Twilight turtle constellation light that projects the stars on the ceiling.

And don't forget the music.

Our visit to the LICM is what got my husband to say 'let's makeover the playroom'. But the equipment is SOOO expensive. DS was in heaven in that room. He stayed in there for over an hour. Totally blown away by the bubble wall. I wish I knew how to re-create that in a more affordable way.

Well... aside the CUSTOM wall bubble. You can create your own. Like you get a bubble wall from a fish supply store in a narrow tank. That's what I want to do. Then get underwater neon lights if I can find them.
