I don't but I'd be interested to see what anyone has to say about it. I was thinking of starting this too.

Re: does anyone juice? (and no i dont mean steroids)

I drink veggie juice for breakfast

I am vegan now and breakfast is a tough meal for me- since most fruit has a good amount of sugar and I am diabetic

I actually love it- I get spainch, carrot, cucumber, apple and celery

I don't want to buy a juicer yet b/c it's messy and a juice place open .5 miles from me and I can grab one for $5

I feel like it would cost me more then $5 to make

I do. I have the Omega Juicer and I love it. I buy tons fo fresh produce. Vegetables and fruit. I usually try to make an A-B-C juice. Something that starts with a, b, c. I love Apple, beet, carrot juice. Just don't put too much beet! It makes it a pretty color and gives it a nice taste but most importantly beets are extremely detoxifying.

Beth, the machine doesn't really make a mess and in the long run I think it is much cheaper. You should consider it. It only takes a few moments to use it.'

I have tried m any combinations. Some I loved. Some, not so much but you basically just play with it and see what yo u like.

Adding apple or carrot to anything will make it sweet. Think about what you know about the veggies/fruits and use that to help you make your juices~

Any othe rquestions please ask and if I can I will answer them.

Re: does anyone juice? (and no i dont mean steroids)

my question is.. do people just do this because its a faster way of getting all of the fruit/vegetable requirements for the day? or is there another benefit of it?

I do it because I follow a vegan diet of mostly raw foods. Here is a website I found that gives some details:

also, how much of each thing do you include for each portion?

do you only make what youre going to drinkat that time, or does it stay in the refrigerator?

how much fruits/vegetables do you buy each week?

how many drinks do you have per day?

Thank you!! Chat Icon

How much I incluude in each portion really depends on what I feel like having. My usual is one apple, three carrots, and a 1/4 of a beet and yet the juice color looks like almost pure beet juice. The flavor and color is strong!! A little goes so far.

I only make what I can drink at that time. I am not sure how long it would last in the frig.

I buy tons of fruits and veggies but I am a vegan so that is the bulk of my diet. Just for juicing I need at least 7 apples. I usually put one in every drink. I go through one bag of fresh spinach just for juicing. And the rest of the fruits/veggies depends on my moods and what I have eaten, etc. I drink one per day usually. Sometimes I don't juice everyday but never really more than once a day. It can become quite caloric. Even though it is better than soda, or even bottled juices, it has calories and I watch how many calories I drink.

My MIL was/is doing it and noticed a big change in how she felt. She also added hemp protein to it. It also helped with how her body was digesting food and making her more regular. She stopped for a while because she was have major digestive issues and she needed to get to the bottom of it, but I think she is going to start back up.

from what I read online- so I am not claiming to be an expert- but the increase in veggies, fruit and jucing

the overall change in diet- can cause "detoxing"

I was reading about it as a side effect some people have to becoming vegan
