What is the deal with no weight coming off?
I tried the South Beach diet with a friend of mine. I did it for 7 days, no cheating at all. No carbs, no sugars, mostly protein and a ton of water. I did really well! So I thought. I weighed myself this morning and NOT ONE POUND has come off. Not even a half pound!!!! NOTHING! My friend has weight that is melting off of her and I know I shouldn't compare, but how is it possible that I lose nothing. For that matter, I may as well go back to eating all the crap I want and still be this weight.
Can someone make some suggestions? I just wanted to lose 5 pounds before tomorrow because I have to go to a pool party with DS and was hoping to feel somewhat comfortable. No dice.

Weight loss and general health =
eating right + sleeping right + moving right.
Are you exercising? Getting enough sleep?
What are you eating on the South Beach diet?

I am sleeping great and getting plenty of rest. I am a single mom so I dont have much time to exercise but I do have an active lifestyle and I'm out and about most of the day. I don't get to sit on the couch much, lol.
On SB I've been eating: TONS of water Chicken ceasar salad, no croutons cheese peanut butter/peanuts chicken (grilled) fresh broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers Eggs Sausage (plain....not honey glazed, etc)

Re: What is the deal with no weight coming off?
I know many people have luck with South beach, but I really don't agree with it.
First, let me say I am vegan so that does make my opinions quite different, but my basic "diet" consists of whole and natural foods. Nothing from a box or bag and nothing processed.
I have found that not only do I look my best, but feel my best this way. There is nothing w rong with carbs that come from fruits and veggies.
I would say that you are definetely doing more harm than good with the sausage. Sausage, even the best quality and lowest fat meats, are filled with perservatives and un natural substances. When we put those types of things in our bodies, we store fat as a defense mechanisim because those un natural sustances are like poison to us.
My trainer follows the Paleo diet which does allow for meats (grass fed organic meats) but dairy and grains are avoided. I suggest you look up Paleo and see if you like it and try to follow that lifestyle plan instead.
Good luck.

Sausage can be very fatty especially if it's not chicken or turkey. Chicken ceasar sald dressing has a TON of calories so even if you think it's good it's really not. I have heard about the Paleo diet but I doubt how healthy it dcan be in ther long term- you need carbs to keep a balance. Whole grains are best.

You eat carbs on Paleo. It's just natural carbs. Nothing man made. There are veggies/fruits, nuts, meats, eggs, etc.
all included in the diet.

Re: What is the deal with no weight coming off?
Ditch the sausage, and chicken ceasar salads for sure. Those are certainly not helping.
As for paleo- I disagree with eliminating grain from your diet. Im not saying eat white bread but if you tell me oatmeal is not a "healthy" food or go so far as to call it and other grains poison, as the primal blueprint does, I will have a hard time considering this a realistic/healthy lifestyle.
Also, even if you are sticking to SB approved foods you need to watch your portion. Are you tracking your macro nutritent intake?

Honestly, I don't even know what the macro nutrient intake is! I did download the myfitnesspal app last week but I only started using it today. I read on here on a post that you can track your macro nutrients on there, but I have no clue what they are to begin with!

Macronutrients are Proteins, Fats, Carbs.
Your intake depends on your height/weight/fitness goals etc! Also your training needs too!
