do i NEED a big diaper bag (skip hop duo double)

i was just looking at the skip hop duo double this weekend and i cant believe how big it is! i do like that it will hang from a double stroller, but do i really need a diaper bag that big or can i get away with a regular size bag? (i will have the twins and a 2 1/2 year old if that makes a difference)

if its needed, i have no issue having a huge bag, but i cant see lugging it around if its going to be half empty all the time.

I have a giant diaper bag, like something that I could have used as a weekender bag pre-babies. And honestly? IT IS NOT BIG ENOUGH !! Maybe I'm an overpacker, but between diapers, bottles, wipes etc that bag is always overflowing. Personally I'd err on the side of something bigger as I'd imagine you'd need to tote along snacks and toys for your older child too.

Yes!!!! I had a Vera Bradley diaper bag and DH had his diaper bag and neither were big enough! We finally splurged for the slop hop duo double and it's still not big enough but better. I ja another baby 5 days ago and now I use a different diaper bag for him. So I carry around 2 diaper bags now. I would definitely recommend getting the SHD double!

I saw it in BBB. I had originally registered for it then someone talked me out of it and into a regular diaper bag.

Looks like I'll have to upgrade!

My SIL was saying it would encourage me to overpack and that it would end up getting too heavy, etc.

I do tend to take too much stuff in general....but she's not a twin mommy! I'm going to trust the experts!

I'll also keep the smaller one I already received. It's an animal print one from BRU.

i have the big marc jacobs diaper bag, and i over pack and its unnecessary. the only time i use my diaper bag is if im going out for a few hours at a time. like a day trip or the beach. where im feeding them a bottle and changing diapers. most of the time i have quick errands near home, even for 2-3 hours, i never need the diaper bag. my kids dont spit up, i find the diapers to be very reliable, and i never need an "emergency bottle" eventhough i have a bunch of ready to feeds in the bag. i dont know, but i an going with regular diaper bag for every day- with diapers wipes pacis and changes of clothes for them....but have a big tote bag if you are doing a day trip...to include more stuff like a few bottles, more clothes, extra blankets, etc.

I registered for the regular one. I didn't know they made a duo!

I knew a Coach was too small unless I just bought a regular tote and I heard that DHs diaper dude messanger is too small for even one baby. Not that I see him ever taking out BOTH babies at once on his own.

I think so.

I have one. I used it all the time when my twins were babies.

Now I use it when I am going out for the day. They are 19 months. I love that I can fit everything I need in it...even a cooler bag with milk/yogurt etc.

For short trips to the store I use my skip hop studio.

I also have a backpack diaper bag which I use when I go to the beach by myself :)

I DO NOT OVERPACK & this bag is ALWAYS FULL!! I can barely close it. My twins are 9 months old now. I carry a few small toys, snacks now as they eat cheerios, bottles, diapers, clothes...and it's full. It is crazy how quickly it fills up. I don't think you will regret getting it.

I do not use a diaper bag.....never did.

I just keep diapers and wipes in my car.

I have a small bag for quick errands and haven't needed more than that so far.

I have the skip hop duo double that I always keep stocked and packed in my car as my emergency bag for wardrobe changes, etc.. I have never had to use it in 7 months. It's too big for me personally to lug around along with 30 pounds of baby and it tips my stroller when I put it on the Mommy Hook.

I have a diaper bag that I use for mainly clothes and if we are going to the store but most of the time when we go to someones house I use a canvas bag from Lands End. It is huge and I can put toys, food, clothes and really everything I need in one bag.

No! I had twins and a toddler same distance apart and just used my regular sized diaper bag for all 3.

DS was 2y9m when the twins were born. He still used a sippy cup and the girls EBF. I have skip hop duo double and still feel like I don't have enough room.

I love bags in general and since the girls were born I never carry a personal handbag. I have a small wristlet that goes in my diaper bag. I treat my diaper bags like they are big purses and I feel like you can never have too many bags LOL. Most of them are regular sized. I also have a Ju Ju Be Be prepared which is the biggest one I have. My girls are 15 months. I always use the regular sized bags for regular outings. If I am going to be out for more than 10 hours then I have a second tote that is just for extra clothes, jackets, PJ's and extra food etc. I think I have about 6 diaper bags and two of those have matching totes (my vera bradley and a kalencom bag). Most of them are bags that I got a great deal on either new or used on ebay. I fit everything in my bags. I love a bag with lots of pockets. The most important thing I need in a bag are two outside pockets big enough to fit two full-sized sippy cups. With the sippy cups on the outside I can fit everything else I need inside.
