Cervical length check

I am going for another cervical length check on Monday (had one a week and a half ago and all was good) and am a little nervous. Haven't been feeling well and have been having lots of tightness in my belly. I was wondering, besides the sonogram indicating the length of your cervix, can it also determine whether or not (GOD FORBID!) one is dilated? I'm 24 weeks and getting a little nervous that I might be headed towards pre-term labor (that I had with my daughter).

Not sure but both times they checked me the dr asked if there was funneling. Not sure if funneling is dilation.

I'm still feeling cramps and pressure every now and then but mine was back up to 3.4 which is pretty good.

im sure either about being dialated but my doc always wanted my cervix to be above 3

Sorry, no help either with dilation. All I remember is I got my cervix checked every 2 weeks with an internal sono. I never had any cervical shortening so the appointment never went any further.

Yes I believe it will see if there's any dilation - one cervix check i had there looked like there was a little fluid inside the cervix so they can actually see a lot! The following week the fluid was gone so they said not to worry about it..but they can check length and then they can push on your lower abdomen while doing the sono and it'll show if the pressure on the stomach causes it to change at all. Going for the sono is your best bet at seeing any changes in the cervix! Good luck!
