Are there Zumba or other classes
that AREN'T Ridiculously Expensive?
I have been looking around and everything is crazy. I know Lucille Roberts has classes but I'm done with signing contracts to gyms I will never go back to.
Any suggestions?

most gyms you do not have to sign a contract these days......everyone I have belonged to are month to month and you can quit anytime with 30 day notice.
I just joined Xsport and its 39/month with no contract. I used to belong to retro and the one in Farmingdale is adding classes.

Re: Are there Zumba or other classes
I go to LA Fitness and the classes are included. I also take my friend Jen's Zumba class at the Physical Fitness Center in Garden City and they are $10 a class, and BY FAR the best Zumba class I have ever been to (and I have done a lot).

Re: Are there Zumba or other classes
I pay $10 a class in Malverne and after you go and pay for 5 classes the next one is free. They also do a discount if you buy a package

Re: Are there Zumba or other classes
If you go a lot, the unlimited plan at my hot yoga studio is not really all that expensive.
I did the math and probably spend more a month on take out and Starbucks.
Last November, the owner also had a reduced special if you paid for the year, which I did. It saved me around $800.00
He was also willing to put my membership on hold for me if something were to happen that I could no longer go regularly.
I know there are some people who do "work study" too which entitles them to free classes (i.e. they clean up the studio after class and check people in).
ETA: I also work with some people who take free zumba classes at their library and say they are really good.
I know my library offers this too pretty regularly. I've never gone though because I have no rhythm and would be like Elaine from Seinfeld.

Re: Are there Zumba or other classes
I didn't even think of the Library. I'm going to call
Also Retro Fitness in Bay Shore just started with classes but it says "With a 1 year contract".
Hmmm I'll check the library first and then go from there.
Thank you

Re: Are there Zumba or other classes
Also check out the school district. Sometimes I get stuff in the mail that offers adults continuing ed classes through the school district and they offer cheap packages for things like yoga and dance.

I take Zumba through my town - it's pretty affordable. Similar to the school district program pp referenced.
