anyone ever make apple caramel muffins?
im thinking of making these before my GD results come back

Wow this looks good! I want to make them too....what kind of apples do you think you will use?
I have my GD test on tues so maybe I should wait till I pass to make them haha

make them tomorrow!!! i ate five slices of pizza on saturday, test on monday and i passed!! side note, it doesnt really matter what you eat, if you have gd, you have it.
i am going to use granny smiths because the ones i got from lewins are really tart.

Very true..never thought of it that way before! 5 slices of pizza, I'm impressed

I made these with DS yesterday, and they are very good! Very moist (and certainly sweet!). Thanks for posting the recipe.
The topping did slide off a bit/sink into the muffin... I later read reviews on the Taste of Home website, and they recommended cutting down on the melted butter in the topping to avoid that issue. And they also recommended that the caramels be cut into larger chunks.
Calorie-wise, they really aren't obscene, but I know they are heavy on white flour and sugar, which may be an issue for some. But I would make them again!

im making them tonight but i cant seem to find the caramels! we went to two supermarkets yesterday.
wheere'd you get yours?

Yes, I am so glad you shared the reicpe. I am looking for some interesting apple recipes because we went apple picking last weekend and have quite a bounty!
I bought a bag of Kraft caramels... I got them at my regular grocery store (King Kullen) in the candy aisle. I know Stop and Shop has them, too, and I think I've even seen them at big drugstores (like CVS).
Hope you found them!
