cat peeing on clothes & bath mat???
My cat keeps peeing on clothes that are left on bathroom floor, where we keep litter box. She even pees on the bath mat.
Nothing has changed - same litter, no new people in house. I don't think she has a UTI & I don't know why this keeps occuring.
Any ideas??

Re: cat peeing on clothes & bath mat???
I had the same thing happen to my bathmat (not clothes). For me, I realized that the litter box wasn't as clean as it could be. I think she just chose the next best option.. bathmat. And once there was pee on that mat, no matter of cleaning was going to get the smell/urine out. So I through the mat out and make sure I keep her litter box cleaner. She hasn't had a random pee since.
Hope you can solve your kitty's pee issue!

Re: cat peeing on clothes & bath mat???
I read somewhere that the rubber on the bath mat can take on a smell similar to urine. I now no longer have mats of any kind in my house (which at times can be quite annoying). Also, I never had a mat problem until after we added a new cat.
As for clothes, that tends to be a territorial issue. Whose clothes are they? Perhaps she does not like clothes on the floor in "her" bathroom.
Or it could simply be a not clean litterbox or a UTI. Better to rule out UTI to be on the safe side since they can be very dangerous.

cat peeing on clothes & bath mat???
My cat is doing a lot of pissing on the front door mat, near his littler box. I am using the worlds best litter, and if there is even no clump n thre, he won't go in it. Silly boy

Re: cat peeing on clothes & bath mat???
I had this problem with Lenny for years. Not on the bathmat though, but any clothes left on the floor or, on my bed! It was horrible and I can't tell you how many comforter sets and clothes we threw out. What seems to have worked for us after speaking to the vet and reading tons is, I scoop his litter every single day and then refresh with a scoop of new litter. I also made sure to change the location of his litter to make sure he felt comfortable to where it was. I also ( I am not kidding) spend about 30 minutes a night playing with him and once a week a take a spice or two and rub them on various places in my house, bottom of dining room chairs, under my bed. This way, he is stimulated and it keeps him interested. Lastly, I spray Feliway spray on my bed, just 3 sprays every 3 days or so which is supposed to help relieve him of any stress. Also, I got a high hamper that he can't get into because it seems he was only marking our dirty clothes.
It sounds like a lot, he is a high maintenance little effer but I love him and the spraying was just god awful! Oh, and i also got him tested for a UTI and what not from the vet but it turned out, he was fine, just very very picky and bored I guess, lol. Good luck with everything!
