How much did you spend on mat clothes?

Had my first wardrobe melt down yesterday. I am just fat at this stage, some mat clothes I purchased are too big and regular stuff is so small.

I've been trying to buy sensible things so I am ready to avoid such melt downs, but it is all so expensive and I am finding it very over whelming.

How much would you say you spent on mat clothes?

The thought of needing some summer stuff, fall stuff, winter (due 12/31), for casual and work is giving me a headache!

I'm afraid to tally it! I'd say about $350 or more. I bought basic things like 3 pairs of capris, jeans, 2 gap long sleeve tees, a bunch of tanks from gap, target, ON, motherhood ($10-$15) and 3 ON maxi dresses. I need a pair of capri jenas though.

I am in the same exact boat as you. I am due 1/3 and have had several melt downs in the past 2 weeks because nothing fits and I feel extremely fat, and any maternity clothes I bought, especially tops are way too big on me.

I have purchased some stuff from old navy and Destination Maternity (when they had their buy one get one sale). So far I'd say I spent maybe $250.

Have you tried some maxi dresses, or other summery type dresses? You can buy them in Target, and Old Navy for a decent price and you dont really need to buy maternity bc they are flowy enough to grow with you.

As for work clothes, once the fall comes, I plan on living in leggings and long tunic tops, and I will buy 2-3 pairs of work pants and just wear them with some tanks and a cardigans, or flowy sweaters for when the weather gets cooler.

I spent an absurd amount because nothing fit from early on and I needed casual as well as work too.

You can get some really great deals on Ebay though and I havent been disappointed yet with anything Ive purchased from there.

Too much!

It does get expensive.

I am in my 8th month, and probably finished with buying maternity clothes at this point (minus some extra nursing type clothes once the baby is born and I start BFing)...

...but I think I have spent close to $1,000 on clothes and that was mostly from target's maternity section with coupons and on sale at gap maternity. And for that money-- I only have 1 bella band, 3 maternity dresses, 2 pairs of maternity pants, 4 maternity/nursing bras, 5 maternity shirts and 8 pairs of maternity/bigger underwear!!

When are you due? I got the tanks b/c I can just throw a cardigan over them in the fall. Even if it's a regular one I don't close. And my capris are convertable so I really can wear them in the fall too. I'm sure I'll pick up another pair of jeans later on too.

I ended up buying maternity jeans at about 10 /12 weeks b/c my jeans were too tight. I ended up pinning them because they were too big since I had no belly at all until like 2 weeks ago. I found the maternity tanks to be good because they are just long tanks so I've been wearing them early on and just bloucing them up b/c they were a bit too long at first. Im still at the "fat, not pregnant" stage but they fit better than they did early on.

I'm due 12/8 and so far I've only bought 2 pairs if pants from old navy. I've been wearing a lot of maxi dresses though, they are just more comfy to me ight now than the maternity pants. For winter I'm sure I will need to buy more...

I felt like I spent a lot but thats because I'm in between seasons. my mother in law bought me about $250 worth of clothing and then I bought a lot of sale stuff. I've been looking at clearance at Target and getting some plus size clothing for extra cheap ($4-10 for a dress). I've been feeling huge and I really dont want to be wearing pants.

When i was pregnant with my son, I spent probably over $2k. I needed a lot of work clothes, and I was feeling crummy enough, so I placated myself by shopping. I also figured that it was an investment, since I planned on having more than one child.

I did most of my shopping at Destination Maternity and Macys. I bought nicer quality stuff that would last, since I lived in those clothes and wanted them to last for more than one pregnancy. The ON and Kohls stuff didn't hold up as well.

I started wearing maternity clothes around 10 weeks so I decent amount. I've spent around $600 or so.

My sister was very nice and bought me and bought me a bunch, so that helped a lot. I probably spent around $400, but I have to say I think I have more of a maternity wardrobe than I ever did with my regular clothes! The bulk of my stuff came from Old Navy's Stuff & Save sale (another is coming up 7/12-7/18), and some came from Motherhood's BOGO sale.

This is my 2nd pregnancy, plus I have a LOT of hand me downs from friends, but I still just spent over $200 the other day.

One 'trick' I found is to buy regular clothes at Target but in XL or XXL. I got a bunch of shirts and even a few shorts and skirts (with elastic, of course).

i was very lucky to get a ton of mat clothes from a friend but they are for when i get bigger. i tried to buy shorts this past weekend and had sticker shock! luckily they didnt have my size so im going to look elsewhere bu mat clothes are ridiculously expensive.

I bought 2 pairs of jeans and one pair of capris and a bunch of shirts from Kohls, Destination Maternity, and Target. Spent about $2-300, i think.

I bought a bunch of shirts that were not maternity, just long and flowy so i'll be able to wear those after Baby comes too.

I am very lucky that I've had some people lend me clothes but some of them are still too big. I've been annoyed because I feel like nothing fits me so I went to destination maternity the other day and had a really great experience. Everything I got was on sale and clearance and they actually fit me. I've also gotten work pants from eBay, a pair of jeans from Kohl's with a coupon, and a pair of shorts from JCPenney. GL!

Probably about $1000 to $1500...maybe more. I have an obsession with purchasing clothes. I have not bought anything in a while though.

I'm really hoping I can get through the summer without needing any maternity clothing. Then once the fall rolls around I'll buy some jeans, leggings and black pants for work. I'll need a decent amount of maternity tops but I'll try to find ones I can wear at work and at home and then a few dresses. Now let's just hope my feet don't swell too much and I don't need shoes too.

I bought more for work to get me through.. I bought 3-4 pairs of jeans/pants for casual wear, 5-6 pants for works, and about 6 or so tops for both casual and work. I finally broke down and bought two skirts, and a pair of shorts, adn swim suit for teh summer. i think i spent a total of 500-600$ total..

I got away with wearing a lot of my regular tops until the third trimester or so. I spent about $100 on jeans (I rotated three pair) and about $100 on tops. (I think I had about 10 that I rotated). Not too bad.

Not too much this time around. I bought a pair of jeans from Motherhood and a few tanks and maxi dresses from Target. I did have a few things from my first pregnancy, but have only used 2 things (most of it was office wear and I don't go to an office anymore, so it was useless!) A bunch of my non-maternity tops still fit at 30 weeks, so I don't think I'll go out and buy any more maternity clothes!

So far I made two big shopping trips for maternity clothes... mostly due to a recent job change... I also was in maternity clothes by 14 weeks. I spent $650 so far. I also got some clothes from a friend who was pregnant last summer. I got really lucky. At this point, I have 3.5 months left and have zero plans to buy any more clothes. Im definitely done.

I purchased about 7 or so tops through out my pregnancy from Destination Maternity. I only bought one pair of maternity jeans and capris and was able to get by on just that. I have been fortunate enough to wear the belly band from week 14 up until now , week 38. Luckily I dont have to dress up for my job so I was able to wear jeans and capris. Between the maternity tops and some of my non maternity tops I was able to get through all 9 months. I would say I spent between $400-$500
