Positive test after a loss
Ease my mind a bit if you can! I had an ectopic in August and had a positive pregnancy test on Wednesday night...my doctor's office has me going for repeat Beta tests to check if my levels are increasing and gave me a huge warning about calling immediately if I feel any pain in my abdomen or any bleeding...since she said that I am totally paranoid about everything I feel. I stopped at the office and spoke to the nurse and she thinks its probably anxiety. Can anyone relate with how I feel or give me a positive story to get me through the next few days until I have these tests done? Thanks!

Re: Positive test after a loss
I never had an ectopic but my last pregnancy loss took place in December and my beta was not negative until April. In fact, I went to a new OBGYN in February and they had me pee on a stick (just as a formality, I was there for an annual exam) and the nurse came in all excited telling me I was pregnant (this was after I told her about my history with infertility, pregnancy loss, and surrogacy) ... and I was like .. ummm noooo not really ..............
I went for beta checks weekly and it took its sweet time.
ETA: is it possible this is a new pregnancy?

Re: Positive test after a loss
Congrats!!!! I am SO happy for you!!
I don't have experience with a BFP after ectopic (currently in the 2WW but i ovulated from the side w/out tube ) BUT you know I just went through an ectopic last month...
All I can say is that you are doing everything right. Getting betas this early and being aware of any pain. the good thing is that with ectopics the pain usually doesn't start until at least 6 weeks pg. You are only 4 weeks...and you will get betas done...if they are doubling normally then you can prob rest ok till an ultrasound!! Ectopics usually show whacky betas...up, then down, then up etc...
IF god forbid it happened again, you'd prob get that shot they give early on to dissolve the pregnancy from the tube, but i wouldn't let that be a thought in your mind now. Try to relax and wait to see how the bloodwork goes. Saying a huge prayer for you, how exciting..you give me hope!!

Re: Positive test after a loss
Thanks...I needed someone to be positive since I am still so anxious! I'm surprised it happened so quickly again (2nd months trying again), but thankful!

Re: Positive test after a loss
congrats!!!!
i also had an ectopic in August. I'm in the 2 week wait now. fingers crossed. i'm guessing your doctor is just being very cautious. i'm sure everything is ok. once you see those beta numbers doubling you can ease your mind. best of luck.

Re: Positive test after a loss
I am starting to feel super nauseous today, which I never felt with my ectopic (probably because my levels never increased normally)...it could be nerves, but I'll take it as a positive sign to keep me going the next few days!

OHhhh ok I totally read that wrong... My last miscarriage took forever and a day for the beta to drop so I thought that's what you were asking ...
Congrats!

Re: Positive test after a loss
I'm feeling sort of strange...achy and crampy...I know its too early to see anything on a sono and I just have to wait for my bloodwork and then we can plan a sono for next week...am I being paranoid?
