How big of a bird should I get?
I'm trying to figure out how big of a turkey I need for Thanksgiving.
I have 14 adults and 5 kids (on the younger, picky eater side).
Nobody is really a huge turkey eater and there will be tons of other things on the menu.
Some sites say 1lb per person and others say 2lbs per person.
I'm so confused!

Well, we will be 6 adults and 2 kids and I plan on getting a 16 lb bird. I would not necessarily double that, but I would get two 16 lb turkeys if your oven is big enough.

Rule of thumb is generally 1 lb per person, 1-1/2 if you plan on leftovers.

We have 8 adults and 3 kids and are making a 23 lb bird and a turkey breast. We all want left overs though.
