Talk some sense into me!
Ok, I need to STOP and get it out of my head that I must finish off my plate and not waste any food. I feel so incredibly guilty throwing out food.
Of course this is my mother's doing after a childhood of guilt trips for wasting food.
Anyone else feel like this too? What helped? Please help!

You can always eat it another time, no need to just throw it out.

This is exactly how you should approach it. If you are dining out you can ask the server to bring you a to go container when they bring out your meal so you can do some portion control before you start eating.
