Cost of bagels
Can someone please tell me why a plain bagel costs .95 and a buttered bagel cost $2.16?
A little bit of butter costs $1.21?

the butter plus labor..you know it takes a lot to spread butter on a bagel!

I find that these Bagel cafe places are so overpriced and they never have hot bagels!!! I miss my Brooklyn bagel places.

Yes. When you consider most places like DD need to have a person "staffed" that usually handles making sandwiches, bagels, etc... they have to factor this into the price.
If not... then the lines would get out of control for the people wanting just coffee vs. people who want food as well.

Ha. i worked in a bagel store, too. And we charged the same for a side of butter than if you got it on the bagel. I also know the bagel store I go to now has a sign that says they will charge for a "sandwich" if you get a bagel with whatever on the side.
