Its not totally gone from what I saw on the news. Looks like it was only a kitchen fire....The oven went on fire when they were making the bagels.
They have the best bagels

Franklin Square's landmark A&S Bagels store was a total loss after a fire Sunday evening, Nassau fire officials said.
Several bakers were making bagels the shop, 761 Hempstead Tpke., when a fire was discovered on top of the oven, Nassau police said.
It took firefighters from six departments 90 minutes to put out the fire, which started at 6:40 p.m., said Charles Albers, a supervisor at the Nassau County fire dispatch.
The store was open at the time and the fire is not considered suspicious. The bagel shop's roof collapsed in the fire and there was also smoke damage at the adjacent Il Cantone Cafe Italian restaurant, though that restaurant is expected to reopen Monday, Albers said.
The only injury was to a firefighter who sprained his ankle, Albers said.

yeah it was pretty bad....ceiling and roof collapsed in. No one was hurt thankfully!
So sad....they do have the best bagels!! I'm sure they'll reopen as quickly as possible!

DH and I just drove past and the outside didn't look too bad. There was a sign on the door that said they will be back.
