low heart rate

I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks 1 day, I got to see the heart beat, but it was low at only 89 bmp. Anyone have a low heart rate in the beginning, and still have a successful pregnancy?

low heart rate

The heart is only starting to beat then. I'd be happy with just seeing a HB at 6w1d

Yes, thank God. I was so excited because my betas were so strong, but this has sort of crushed my spirit.

Betas just mean the cells are dividing and multiplying properly, they dont really tell you much more than that... the fact that youre measuring on time i would be very hopeful that it was just the hb starting off.

that is what I keep telling myself, that maybe the heart just started to be right before my ultrasound.

Don't get discouraged. It's still very early. You could be measuring a day or two behind which can make a huge difference. It's still very early. Next week should give you a better reading.

Hi, Just read an old post from a different board and according to americapreganacy.org at 6-7 weeks HB should be btwn 90-110. Hope that lessens your worries :)

I would not worry at all!!! The fact that there is a HB so early is a GREAT SIGN!!!! Next week it will be faster and stronger :)

6weeks 1 day is very early to see a heart beat. The fact that you saw any heart beat is great. You may also be a few days behind. I wouldn't worry too much Chat Icon

The heart rate was 124 this week. It made me feel a little better, but I am still a nervous wreck.

Thanks for all your support.

I'm so happy I saw this update!!!

I didn't want to say it before, but in my pregnancy last year the baby's heartbeat was slow but it never picked up. That's a very normal range now and I predict boy! Chat Icon (old wives tale, but boys tend to be in the 120s/130s while girls tend to be higher)

I was pretty much told it was 50/50 with the low heart rate. I just want out of the first trimester. I know it doesn't guarantee anything, but maybe I will feel like I can breath again.

My DS always had a super high heart rate, so everyone thought girl. :) an interesting little factoid, even though the heart rate and gender link is an old wives tale, it actually has truth while in labor. I remember reading that during my first pregnancy, and checked the baby`s heart rate when I was in labor. it was normally on average between 165-180, during labor it was 135.

One last update, today at 8 weeks 1 day the heart rate was 158 and the baby caught up in size. Everything looked so good that they said I could skip the sono next week but I am going to have one anyway.
