Vent
DD was out of school for 13 days during hurricane and was fine. She's been out of school a week and already her behaviors are off. She only wants to eat a certain food, the scripting has increased and the tantrum she had today was bad. Her sleeping has been off too. I've been trying to keep her busy so I'm sure she is tired and her schedule is off. It also doesn't help when your DH diasgrees with everything I try to do to get her back in "our world". After a night of no sleep, and her behaviors most of the day I was exhausted today. Then I feel guilty because this is my week home with her and I want to enjoy it. So I had to vent. Anyone else feel this way now that the kids have been off a week?

Re: Vent
I am grateful that this year it is better but I sure learned from last year. last year DS was an off the wall nightmare. A combination of being out of routine, too much sugar, not enough sleep, etc. He also went through a whole sleep regression thing where he was waking up everynight at 3am for no reason. This year I dramatically reduced his sugar intake and while I did let him stay up a little past his bedtime on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I have been pretty rigid about trying to keep him on schedule. I also asked his teacher to give me his school schedule and made a little PECS board on the fridge and have tried to keep it similar to school. So far it has worked!
