Ebony is at the Vet's
We gave him antibiotics for his hacking cough but they haven't helped. So today I had to take him in for testing. They with put him under anesthesia, then run blood work, x-rays, chest exam.... I am  that it is not cancer or something terrible.
It is a lot of strain for an 11-year-old dog to be under besides.... I will call the vet at 12:30 to get an update. I am so worried about my baby...

THank you everyone --- the vet did a bunch of x-rays and blood work. All they can find is swelling and irritation in his thorax. So he is back on antibiotics, as well as a cough suppressant and anti-inflammatory. The vet thinks with all of these treatments he will be better soon.
So relieved it wasn't a tumor.
OK so $500 later...he has a sore throat!

Well -- he's been on the meds since Friday. He threw up at 5:30 this morning (on gray carpeting in the hall) and again at 7:30 (beige, in the bedroom ).
I am not sure if it is the meds, or because he was psycho last night as there were fireworks going off in the neighborhood.
It has been an awful weekend - our tree came down and we have been dealing with the cleanup, never-ending. Our washing machine broke and I had to rush out and buy a new one ($$$$). I just dropped the 6-case of beer I got DH to help him feel better and it broke all over the driveway. Ebs puking and keeping us up... not a good weekend. I am hoping that by tomorrow everything is back to semi-normal, and he is better. If not I will call the vet again.
