Treatment for a bulging disc

My husband has been dealing with on and off shoulder/neck pain for weeks. Been going to the chiro with no relief. I said he should ask for an MRI. He finally got one the other day and they found a bulging disc. Now hopefully they can treat him the right way...
Has anyone had this before and what kind of treatment did you get? Thanks!

Give Physical therapy a chance. Once or twice a week for a month; I bet he sees a difference. No more Chiro. lol

PT, epidurals, steroids, NSAIDs, or surgery. usually you start with anti-inflammatory meds, and PT. if that doesn't work, they might try a steroid pack, and then an epidural. after that you're usually looking at surgery. i'd recommend trying everything before that point, once you go down the surgery route, you're never going to be the same. i've been through all of this stuff, lumbar and cervical, and its not fun.

My husband just had surgery for a bulging disc. He was in an accident last November. He first did pt and got 3 rounds of steroid shots over the corse of 5-6 months. But after his third shot the pain returned so this summer he had surgery to fuse his c4,5 and 6. Since his surgery the pain is gone, just now has some lingering stiffness with the weather. He is glad he did it though!!

I had a miscrodiscectomy after therapy & injections. Felt better in the recovery room & went on vacation 10 days later.
