Please help. New dog and old dog not getting along

DH and I recently adopted a sweet 6 year old Male dog. We have a 9 year old male American bulldog who is also the biggest mush you'll ever meet.

They are both loving, kind boys who love cuddling, hugs , and kisses.

However they have been fighting since we brought the new dog home. The new dog wants to play or stares at our old dog and then it's growling and jumping at each other, scratching, and rolling around.

It may sound like they'll playing, but trust me its not.

I don't know what to do. I am trying to establish that my old dog is dominant but it's not working. When the fight breaks out I grab the new dogs collar calmly say no and have my
Old dog sit. I don't let go until they look away and calm down but 5 minutes later the fights start again. It's a never ending cycle.

This is extremely new so I know we need time but what can I do to make them get along?

Please help!

have you tried keeping them in separate spaces for a while? i think i would probably keep them in rooms separated by a gate and try feeding them right next to the gate so they're close to each other and relate being near one another to a positive thing. i'm not an expert tho, but i wanted to try to help! good luck!

I would follow the articles from here:

http://www.badrap.org/training-resources

This is from a rescue group that deals primarily with bully breeds. It's a great resource for information.
