Anyone else reading Gone Girl???

I think it gets interesting when she disappears and more about his life and activities start coming out. I just finished all three of her books, and I liked them all. I did feel like Dark Places was different than the other two. In Sharp Objects and Gone Girl, there were big twists, so I was reading Dark Places expecting the unexpected, but it never happened. That said, Dark Places stayed with me the longest (like when you are folding laundry and something about the book comes to mind) which to me is a hallmark of a good book.

I loved it. Although, I do agree, the ending was tough - I don't see how it could have ended any other way. I've recommended it to everyone.

HATED this book as well!

I started out liking it, but once you realize how the plot turns and start getting her real side of the story, i loathed her character and just really didn't care what happened to her. Frankly, i wanted her to die so he'd be free of her.
The ending was so unsatisfying!

Re: Anyone else reading Gone Girl???

I've avoided this thread as I didn't want to accidentally spoil anything for myself while reading the book.

I'm going to write in detail about it, so if you don't want to spoil anything for yourself, stop reading now.

I finished it this morning.

I'm torn. Sometimes I like the ol' "W T F?" endings, sometimes I don't.

In this case, I don't. So much was left open; I almost feel like that was deliberate so the author could write a sequel.

I didn't like Amy at all from the get-go.
Nick disappointed me at times, but for the most part I liked him. Can you blame him for stepping out with Andie? With that psycho of a wife, I sure can't.

I like Go a lot too - but when she started wavering on Nick's possible guilt I was like "NO, GO! NO! Don't go there! Chat Icon"

I guess we'll see if Gillian Flynn writes a follow-up to this. With such an intense story, I don't like not knowing what happens to these characters.

I heard that it's in talks to be adapted to a movie. Anyone else hear that?
