cat throwing up (TMI alert)
My cat has never been one to throw up a lot. And I will admit I am a paranoid mommy! She is about 5 years old and the past 2 days she has been throwing up.
Not to get too graphic, but when she throws up its not a lot at all. She gags for a while and then its usually mostly bile, with a couple (3-5) pieces of her food (that to me, look whole).
She is definitely eating and drinking, and any food that comes up is way less than what she eats total. She eats the Before Grain salmon hard food, and I introduced this food about 6 months ago. She has never had an issue with it before.
I'm not sure if she is gagging because she has a hairball, or if she is sick. I am going to call the vet tomorrow, but I am a little nervous. Any experience or advice?
Also, she is strictly indoor, if it matters.

If it persists, call the vet. Otherwise it may just be a hairball.

Sounds like my female cat when she has a hairball or overeats. If she were truly vomiting, it would be more than some bile and a few food pellets. You can hear the difference, too. The hairball puking sounds like they're gagging, there is a distinct hacking sound. When they throw up, it is noticeably different.
