How much weight can I realistically lose in 1 month?

I've given up almost all carbs and have been eating mostly protein and veggies.

I drink only water, green tea, and occassionally coffee.

I just went back to the gym and started doing cardio sculpt 3x/week.

If I am super strict and don't cheat at all, do you think I can go down 5 lbs in 1 month?

And, are there other things I can be doing to get the weight to come off faster?

full disclosure: I do have 2 glasses of wine a night on the weekends but I refuse to give that up.Chat Icon

at least 5 lbs - absolutely. For me, with that diet, it would probably be 10

I think 5 lbs a month is very realistic. I think up to 2 lbs a week is safe and within the realm of reality, so maybe even 8 lbs or so.

I would just make sure you are eating a balanced diet focused on mostly whole foods, and also watch portions.

Good luck!

Definitely 5lbs is realistic. Honestly I think you may lose even more too. I'm thinking between 8-10 lbs (that's normal consistent weight loss).

Good luck!!!

Definitely 5 pounds at least, and more if the diet changes are drastic for you, your body will respond quickly.

Def five lbs is more than realistic...I was aiming for that this month I did a strict 30 day paleo diet...no cheating...and lost 10 with exercising as well! Cutting out carbs, treats, and dairy def did it for me!

I just eat meat, eggs, veggies, fruit!

Good luck!

Thanks!

What are you ladies eating besides omelettes/eggs for breakfast?

I've had egg white omelettes with veggies for a week and a half straight and I'm getting so bored with it.

I'm trying to stay away from fruit for the most part . . .

This may not be helpful to you, because I am following WW and not cutting out any foods (so I eat carbs, a lot of fruits, dairy, etc.). But I have lost about 14 lbs in 2 months eating this way, so I am sticking with it:

For breakfast, aside from eggs (which I eat a lot of different ways - omelets, sandwiches, hard boiled, quiches), I eat:

1) High fiber cereal with skim milk or almond milk (usually with fruit)

2) Oatmeal -- I have been making Baked Oatmeal lately, getting recipes from Skinny Taste (but they involve fruit).

3) Yogurt or cottage cheese with fruit

4) Whole wheat English muffins or bagel flats with cheese and turkey bacon, or tomato and low fat cream cheese. I've also done smoked salmon and tomato on a bagel thin. Or I've done a whole wheat, low calorie wrap with peanut butter and jelly, or peanut butter and banana.

5) Whole grain waffles or pancakes (if not with fruit, then with peanut butter or almond butter or something? Or even wrap a turkey or low fat sausage in a whole grain waffle or pancake?

I do eat eggs (not just egg whites) A LOT for breakfast, and I pretty much eat fruit every day with breakfast, but if you want to avoid, what about adding peanut butter, nuts, coconut, etc. to oatmeal, or adding high fiber cereal or almonds to yogurt?
