I have been on Loestrin 24 for almost 3 years. No side effects either..
I never knew there was a generic... I am going to have to look into that. I could be saving a lot of money!!!

I was on Loestrin FE 24 a few years ago and had no complaints about it, aside from the price. I *think* at one point I was paying like $70 a month becuase my insurance won't cover birth control. I have no idea what it would cost for someone with different insurance, especially since the recent changes in birth control coverage.
My OB actually told me not to use the generic since I was complaining of mood swings on bcp's. He felt the hormone levels are not as controlled from pill to pill in a generic and it can contribute to mood swings.
As far as the FE, I believe all that means is there is iron in the pill. I'm not sure if you can also get a variation without iron.

OMG i asked my insurance and they said they cover it with a copay of $84! I cant afford $84 monthly. I heard its only $79 without insurance. Can i ask for samples at OB visit on 6 weeks check up?

Re: Birth control pills
Beyaz. On it for a couple of years. Best I ever used, and I've been on bc pills for 15 years. No weight gain, light period for maybe 3 days max. My copay is $5

Re: Birth control pills
Lo Loestrin Fe. Very low estrogen pill. I use it to control bleeding from fibroids. I haven't had my period in a year. It's amazing and no side effects at all.
