Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
I know I know
Im a broken record....But Im scared , really scared and am so unsure if I can go through with this IVF.
ALL I think about is what if it fails..what then? I lost all the money we have to our names and No options left.
The fear is so overhwleming , all I do is panic about it.
What if the timing is not right? What if I should lose some more weight, get healthier? Try for the grant again at a later time? I know I cant drive myself nuts with What if's....But still...
Why cant I do this

Re: Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
your fear is completely normal and will not be the last time you freak out. yes we can always put our lives on hold for a better time, and as any IFer knows, man plans and God laughs. Who knows if there will ever be a better time. Allow me to quote a wise woman:

Pauline- I can only tell you what I would do..If I could come up with the money I would pay it.
I wish I had more advice.
there is no time like now, and remember love is all you need

Re: Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
i totally hear you on fear, but try to think of a different type of "what if," like
"what if i don't do this and it could have worked?"
risk is soooo freaking scary, but think about what it would be like without taking the risk-you would never know!
you CAN get through this!!

I'm sorry its so overwhelming for you D! Just think about how much it would stink if you didn't get that grant and IVF wasn't even an option! Hang in there...take it one day at a time!

You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
Just keep telling yourself that. And just remember to focus on each day as it comes. Don't think ahead to the procedure and testing, etc.
Think "What do I have to do TODAY." and just get through that one step.

Re: Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
Ugh, I can't imagine the stress this is putting you under. I have no answers
Have you met with Eileen Mitchell - shes the counselor at NSUH. She is there on Tuesdays and sees patients pro bono - we met with her for one session and she really put us at ease over my fears

Re: Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
I have faith that you can do this. I'm sure the anticipation for you right now is much worse than what's actually going to happen (not that I speak from experience), but that's what happens in most cases for everyone.
Just think of that little baby in your arms!
You can do it!!

Re: Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
You can so do this. I was scared to DEATH when I found out all the stuff I had to do to my body to have these boys. It will all be well worth it. Have you thought about doing acupuncture with the IVF? I tell you it helped me calm down, and the women I saw was GREAT. She calmed me down and talked to me. She wasnt there to just take my $$. She really cared. It is totally normal to have the fear, what if it doesnt work, you wont know until you try...........you have come such a long way....dont give up now

Re: Freaking out ( AGAIN!)
i went through roughly the same axieties, panick attks and so on. it does totally suck and i wish i could tell you that money will always come rolling in at no big deal.. there's always a risk. but there could be a chance that your donor can provide plenty of eggs that'll last you years. and there's a chance that your first or maybe second will be a success. but what i do know is you have to stop stressing. all this stress, seriously, could be the result of an unsucessful transfer. i urge you to stay zen.
fyi.. my second transfer was a sucess. at 12wks, i am currently pregnant.
*keep it ohmmm day and night.
