vitamin D
i went for my physical earlier this month and just got the blood work back. apparently my vitamin D is low.
my doctor just said to drink more milk and get some sun. she didnt think taking any extra medicine was necessary at this time.
does anyone else have this? any suggestions? anything i should be doing or not doing?
thanks!

vitamin D
I think it's extremely common, especially since everyone's been cooped up inside b/c of winter. Pretty much everyone I know has had low Vitamin D. My Dr. said to just take OTC Vitamin D. DH's dr. prescribed him Vitamin D.

Re: vitamin D
Most people have low Vitamin D and even with sunshine, you can't possibly get enough. I think its always best to take a multi vitamin plus Vitamin D. Its extremely important to take Vitamin D especially after 30 due to bone loss in women.
I suggest taking a Vitamin D vitamin everday.

Re: vitamin D
My dr said like 90% of Americans are deficient in vitamin D. I took supplements prior to getting pregnant and it became normal. I haven't taken supplements in over a year and it's maintained a normal level. It's VERY important for your bone health.

Re: vitamin D
I am low vitamin D. I didn't really do anything for it until I became pregnant, at which point they told me to take a supplement, so I take 2000 mcg (? I think, whatever the unit is) daily. I don't notice any symptoms or anything.

Re: vitamin D
I was really deficient a few months ago. I had to take 50,000 IU of it for 3 months. I went back last week and my levels are still low so I have to take one 1,000 IU pill a day.
