Re: ACE for weight loss???

It's a weight loss pill like all other weight loss pills. It states that it's all-natural but contains a controversial ingredient, DMAA, which can lead to life-threatening complications. It has a chemical structure similar to amphetamines and ephedrine, so it can cause increased heart rate and blood pressure. I believe it can also be addictive. GNC and other retailers were sued for carrying products containing DMAA.

ACE for weight loss???

How can it have DMAA when that was pulled from the shelves? I'm sure it did but there must be a version without it at this point.

I just watched a segment about DMAA. Since it's not regulated by the FDA, the gov't has no right to pull it from the shelves. They asked the companies that use it in their products to stop it, and companies that sell it to pull it from their shelves.

GNC still sells products containing DMAA, and the company that manufacturers DMAA still use it in their supplements.

ACE for weight loss???

Good to know Blaze, I got am email from a supplement store online that had all of those products dirt cheap. The way they worded the email was that the FDA told them it must go. I guess maybe they are just complying to prevent possible lawsuits, etc.

Didn't the FDA just ban DMAA in the last week or two?

Thats actually not true. The FDA can absolutely pull items from the shelves, inflict recalls and punishments/fines on supplement companies that violate certain practices. What the FDA does NOT regulate is the actual manufacturing of supplements. That is done by independent labs like the USP for one. It can however, if an item is deemed a health hazard, if it does not meet standards to back up its claims, if its advertising or marketing is misleading it absolutely can and will and has taken major companies to court and had their products pulled from shelves, issue massive fines and issued these companies consent decrees.
