body pump class?
i tried cross fit (not for me) and my cousin suggested body pump classes. she said it's a toned down version of cross fit. I just don't know where to find these classes? I don't below to a gym. I'm in western suffolk (babylon area)

Body pump is a Les Mills program. If you go on the Les Mills website, you can search for body pump classes. (They are offered at Gold's Gym in Smithtown and East Northport.)

There aren't really many on Long Island, and nothing near Babylon. I only know of the 2 places PP mentioned.
Body Pump is a very cookie cutter type strength training class, it is not at all like cross fit. That's not to say it's not a good workout, it's just nothing like cross fit.
You'd probably benefit more from a boot camp style class at a gym than from Body Pump.

I take UXF classes at NYSC. They're great! They are a toned down version of cross fit and can burn 450-600 calories during each class.

body pump class?
There is a pumped class at bug Al's family fitness in amityville. But if you're in Babylon. Try fitness incentive for tons of classes. I agree that pump is NOTHING at all like Crossfit. Crossfit is far more intense but also can be scaled for any level.

I'm sure it's not as good as going to the actual class, but they sell the DVDs online. I have been thinking of getting them because I don't have the time or money to go to a class.
