Those who have pools
Do you take your twins in alone providing they are wearing a life vest or puddle jumper? If so how old are they?

Those who have pools
I have twice so far, they are in floaties and bathing suits with built in floaties, kinda like a life vest but it's a swim suit. They are 2 years 1 month. I have to hold on to both of them though because the suits push them face first into the water.
I want to try puddle jumpers. I need to check their weights because the puddle jumpers start at 30LBS I don't think they make the weight even though the are 2. The bathing suits say for 1-2 year olds. But they don't work at all. In fact I think they are more dangerous because they roll forward.

Re: Those who have pools
we have a pool and yes I take my twins (almost 2) and there older brother (3.5) - I put a float on all of them - because we have an in gorund pool and if they walk to a far edge I want them covered.
My son was just under 30 lbs (like 28 lbs) at 2 and I go the puddle jumper for him and it was great. My twins are 22 months and 24 lbs and the puddle jumper does not work well for them - they mostly like to play on the stairs so it does not effect their play but I like the puddle jumper just to buy me time if they slipped in
just thinking though - I pulled my son a lot when we was little with the puddle jumper and he learned to kick well with it on
also when they just under the weight - the puddlejumper stayed on best with a swim shirt- my son slipped his arms out once when he was almost 2 with bare arms
eta puddle jumpers are working for us now - the water wings did not keep their mouths above water- but still need lots of eyes on them. - they like to play next to the pool thankfully

Those who have pools
thanks very good to know! I don't understand why they don't have better options for 1-2 year olds. Not every baby will stay in the little floating seats. Mine wouldn't. They need to make smaller puddle jumpers!

Re: Those who have pools
My twins are 21/19 months and 22 lbs. I tried the puddle jumpers, but they are not savvy enough in the water to manipulate it. I just bought the speedo Vests So far baby B is willing to experiment with the vest. Baby A became more timid in the water. Taking them in the pool tomorrow. I will update.
Ok So puddle jumpers it is!!! Not sure if I would do it in my own, but the puddle jumpers win!!

Re: Those who have pools
Puddle jumpers are working well for us, except for the occasional face plant in the water. Dh had been taking them in alone while I hang with the baby. I think I the baby is down for a nap ill attempt it alone. Ill keep you posted.

Re: Those who have pools
my girls are 19 months and 23 and 28 lbs. We have the infant vest for the 23 lbs and the child vest for the 28 lbs. It seems to be working well. They can't go in alone safely yet, but they are working on being able to float on their own.
Swim vests
ETA: re-read and saw you asked about ME taking them in alone. I haven't yet, but I would be comfortable to do that with these vests.

Re: Those who have pools
After 5 days with the puddle jumpers the girls are swimming across the pool. I tried them in the pool with just me a few days ago, before they were zooming across the pool, and I think it is what they needed to become more independent So yes I take them in by myself now

Re: Those who have pools
My girls are 2y3m and I take them plus my DS (5) in the pool myself. J is great with puttering around in the puddle jumper and K prefers me to hold her. But it is totally do-able.
