Just bought my first slow cooker
...And I don't know what to do with it. I've been looking at recipes online, but I'm more interested in some of your favorite recipes (not soups though).
Favorite slow cooker recipes, please?

I've made slow-cooker lasagna a few times. It's probably the only recipe I've made so far with my slowe cooker.

Re: Just bought my first slow cooker
If you want to start off with easy slow cooker recipes and still have really yummy food, try the McCormack flavor packets for slow cookers. They are in the spice aisle. All of the ingredients and instructions are on the back. The best is the pulled pork!

Corn on the cob, I just tried it the other night- it was amazing! Take corn, husk and clean it, wrap in foil, put in crockpot, cover and cook on high 3 hours. Delicious and comes out perfect!

Do you need to put any water into the slow cooker? Ive always been afraid to leave mine on as if it will burn or explode lol

Pulled Chicken - about 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 1/2 can cherry coke, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce (Sweet and Spicy flavor). Toss everything in the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hrs, Chicken will shred apart. Serve over sliced rolls. Delicious.

Not unless it's part of the recipe. I've been cooking with a Crock Pot for years and years with no problem. I never add random water.........it will ruin your meal.

Pulled Pork - 3 ingredients.
Pork Shoulder or Butt 1 can of Root Beer or Sprite BBQ Sauce
Place Pork in crockpot and pour can of soda over it. Turn on low for about 7-8 hours. Drain and pour your favorite BBQ sauce over it (We use Sweet Baby Ray's or Famous Daves Sweet & Zesty). Pull with fork. Serve on plate or on a bun!

Crock pot recipes always require less liquid than oven or stove top because the food gives off a lot of liquid in the slow cooker (you always wind up with a lot more liquid than you started with). So you definitely don't want to add any additional liquid that isn't called for in the recipe or you will end up with a soupy mess.
But sometimes if your slow cooker runs hot or you leave it on too long, the food will start to burn/crust the sides. So I like the models, like mine, that have a timer and then automatically switch to "warm" when the time is up (so you don't have to worry about it cooking too long).

i have a slow cooker where you can put the pan on the stove to brown stuff and then put it in the machine, so that makes my stuff really one pot, which I love. I think browning the meat first makes a difference in final flavor.
I've made chili with ground beef, ground turkey, and cubed skirt steak (this was SO GOOD).
I've also done pulled chicken - boneless skinless breasts and thighs, 14 oz crushed tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, spices (chili powders, cumin, coriander, etc), onions, garlic, molasses, worchestershire, and some bottled bbq sauce. I will also usually put in some liquid smoke.
