using my slow cooker for the first time today!
I'm a little nervous. But I have one question . . . I am making pulled pork using a McKormic (sp) seasoning packet. The directions only call for 1/3 cup of liquid plus 1/2 cup ketchup. Does the mixture/liquid have to cover the meat? because I do not think that is enough to cover the whole thing. (Its a 3lb pork roast).

It doesn't have to cover the meat. As the meat cooks, liquid will be released. You should be fine. Usually when I make pulled pork, I put a bottle of bbq sauce in there after I pull the pork.

You don't need as much liquid when you use the slow cooker. Because it is covered the whole time, the liquid doesn't evaporate.
I'm sure your dinner will be delicious!

Thank you everyone, the pulled pork came out excellent. I was cooking for my MIL & BIL too, so I always get extra nervous when it I cook for my MIL. I now have to research more slow cooker recipes.
