Re: Is this not listening or behavior issues?
Honestly I think it is something else. And I certainly can put my DS into this catagory. He is PDD-NOS but the impulsivity issues with him is out of control. He just cant seem to help himself. I feel like I am yelling at him all. day. long. And stupid stuff that he KNOWS he's not allowed to do. A...WHY DID IYOU DO THAT????? Because I need to....
I feel your pain. I have a lot of friends with typical 4 y/o boys and while they can be defiant and impulsive at times, it is NOTHING like what I go through on a daily basis.

I feel the same way... I want a day where I don't have to be on top of him all day... It has gotten worse over the last 4 weeks... He burned himself on the oven a couple of weeks ago because he HAD to touch it.. Thankfully it wasn't anything serious.. And it hasn't stopped him from brushing up against it... I think OCD... Who would I go to for that? I feel bad that he is constantly in trouble with everyone in the house..

Re: Is this not listening or behavior issues?
Has his routine changed lately?
Since DS started Pre-K two weeks ago, we've noticed a regression in his behavior.
He was literally walking around last night speaking in baby gibberish.
We couldn't take it when he had a meltdown and was yelling in baby talk, so we made him go in his room for the rest of the night. Thankfully it was close to bedtime anyway.

Is this not listening or behavior issues?
I think it's a mix. Do you use a behavior chart at home? DD was the same exact way and I had to write down all the rules of the house. The list is HUGE because if I forgot to put something down she would do that one thing. I have it written on poster board and taped to the wall. Now I just tap on the poster board and she stops lol. (that took a year though : ) ).

Re: Is this not listening or behavior issues?
Does he have a therapy team? Maybe they can help you do a behavioral assessment to see what the function of the behavior is.......good luck!
