Can you bring children to meet the teacher night?
Our paper does not say if children are able to attend with you. Does anyone know if children can come with a parent to meet the teacher night? Have you seen kids at yours if you went already?

I would not bring a child to back to school night. Normally only one parent attends and the other one stays home with the kids or you hire a sitter or family. Perhaps you could see if a neighbor would be willing to watch your child and then you could repay the favor later on.

Our school usually offers child are for school aged kids when there are night time meetings, but they do not for back to school night. Children are not supposed to attend.

There were none at my own DC's night.
As a teacher, I've yet to see them at mine. A few times over the years, parents have brought the student or a younger sibling to parent conferences. I always ask the child to step away and wait back on the line. It's not appropriate.

Our school says not to bring them, but I see them every year. I don't think it's a big deal as long as they aren't disruptive. It's not like a conference where the teacher is talking about your child's strengths and weaknesses.
If you have no choice, well you have no choice.
