Looking for a restaurant in NYC, something romantic but not stiff!
We love Po and The Place and looking for something similar. Don't want to go back to the same place with NYC having so many wonderful places to offer!
Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Erminia Restaurant.....250 E83st...it's one of the most romantic restaurants in the city. We went for our 1st year anniversary in 2007, and have been back every year since. It's so cozy and intimate. And the food is delicious! I've gone to The Place also and love it, so I think this is similar to your style

That is a great reccomendation! You really hit a nail on the head: we went to Erminia for our 1st anniversary, in 2004! You totally got what I was talking about! Anymore restaurants like that that you know of?

Thank you! I was going to recommend Candela in Union Square but just read it's closed! I loved that place too..literarally lit with just tealights, candles, most flameless, some not...very intimate and romantic, shame it's not there anymore...I'll keep thinking lol

Wanted to recommend a new one I just went to. Mas in the Village.
Amazing! Very cozy ,great food. THey have a tasting menu or you can just order normal entrees, appetizers etc. Beautiful place. Definitely a special night out.

You are awesome, NervousNell!!
I actually made reservations at the Aquagrill, based on your recommendation. I definitely want to try it and this might be my only chance! I love seafood and fish of all kinds, but my husband is not a fan, so my only opportunity to make in into that place is to play the birthday girl card!
Luckily, there is chicken on their menu to accommodate the fish haters!

I think you will love it! And I also have to use the birthday or anniversary card to get seafood. Like yours, my DH is not a fan of anything from the sea! Luckily I get to go out for business a lot, so I get to try all these amazing places! If you like tuna tartar, they have an appetizer that is amazing!

Ooooh! Actually, believe it or not, my husband will probably go for the tuna tartar himself!
His is very odd when it comes to eating fish: he loves sushi but hates any cooked fish dishes. He is also likes shrimp and oysters but hates scallops!

Oh if he likes oysters he will love Aqua Grill- they have a great raw bar and a huge selection of oysters from different regions.
