Q re: Food for a small party

I'm having a small party for a friend moving back home. It's I <3 NY themed so I wanted to either order pizza, a hero, or both. It's for 10-12 people.

How much pizza would I need if I only did that?
How much hero would I need if I only ordered that?
How much would I need of both if I decided to order both?

4 Pies
4 foot
2-3 pies and 3 foot (I don't think they come smaller)

I agree with the others.

FWIW, I would do the pizza... I don't think a hero is particularly NY-ish. If I think of NY food I think of pizza, bagels, dirty water hot dogs, and rock hard "soft" pretzels :)

id say for 12 people, you would only need 2 pies. maybe 3 if they are big eaters. i agree that i dont think heroes represent i love ny but if you are doing both still 2 pies and maybe a 2 or 3 foot hero. heroes alone, i think you need like a 5 or 6 foot. I'd just go with pizza personally and I'd probably do 3 pies.

2 pies for 12 people?? That's 16 slices for 12 people. That means only 4 people get 2 slices. It's so much better to have extra than not enough.

Totally agree. 2 pies for 12 people is not enough if you are only doing pizza. I always plan on each person eating at least 2 pieces of pizza and then I will add another pie on to that total. I am of the mindset that I would rather have extra food than not enough.

i agree - 4 pies should work.

You could also do bagels

and pastries (canoli, napoleon etc) for dessert.
