Cerclage

I had an emergency cerclage at 24.5 weeks and was on modified bed rest for a bit after and then complete bed rest until i gave birth at 32 weeks. I was only allowed to go into the office for 2 days a week and i had to stay at my desk with my feet up slouching down in my seat so the babies didn't put any pressure on my cervix. I was far along though when i got the cerclage. I've heard of people having a cerclage at 12 weeks or 15 weeks and not having to be on bed rest for more than a week or two after the cerclage to heal.

I had a cerclage at 13 weeks and was on either modified bedrest (worked part time and bedrest all other times) or on full bedrest throughout my whole pregnancy. I delievered at 33w6 days due to pre eclampsia.

Re: Cerclage

I am having such anxiety about this. I can handle modified bed rest but I am not prepare for strict bed rest. When I did it last time it was so hard and I did not have a 3 year old to take care of. So scared!

I had one at 21 weeks and was on strict bed rest until I delivered via csection at 35-4. Mine was an emergency as I was already 4 cm dilated and baby A's membranes were coming out.

Cerclage

My cervix shortened at 19w3d. Meds seemed to help, but doctor wanted to do cerclage anyway so I got one at 19w5d. Was on strict bedrest for 2 weeks after and then returned to work as a teacher, but pretty much sat with my feet up most of the day. Went home after work and stayed on the couch almost everyday. Went out once in a while, but did not stay on my feet for long periods of time.
