We have been using our pellet stove pretty often. It warms most of our first floor.
Our area is generally 5 degrees cooler than most of LI. We've had a few nights in the 40's already this fall.

Was just telling Dh today that it's probably time to set the thermostat to Heat. Boooooooo
Though when we use our wood burning stove, the heat doesn't kick on until morning. That thing really heats the entire house. LOVE IT!

Yup. I don't let the date dictate the house temp. The thermostat is on "heat", so if it gets cold, the heat turns on. It has kicked on a couple of times in the last few days.

Nope! Maybe at the end of the week when it gets to be in the 50's during the day and colder at night but otherwise I'm holding out.

Yes, twice so far. My DD's room gets super cold.
I put it on 71 at night for two days.

This, but by me it is probably 5-10 degrees cooler than LI. We used our wood stove on Saturday and will most likely use it from today until the end of the season.

We've had our heat on for about a week now. But we live in Milwaukee.
You guys are about 1.5 days behind us (weather-wise). Those who are trying to hold out, I have a feeling you're gonna be singing a different tune in a couple of days because it is cold as fvck here today!! lol We even have a possible chance for snow in the forecast!!!!! Where have you gone, Autumn!?!
