I broke down this morning, my house went down to 60 degrees, and I was freezing. Just curious....

Absolutey not. I wait as long as I can every year. I'm not looking forward to spending tons of money on oil.

We put extra blankets on the kids last night, everyone went to bed with long pants PJs...but no heat. I am holding off as long as possible!
It's supposed to get much colder later in the week!

We rent in a 2-family house. Our landlord put the heat on one night last week, but we hadn't needed it since. Though last night was pretty chilly.

No way. I try and hold out until at least after thanksgivng. I hate the heat.

Yup. I don't let the date dictate the house temp. The thermostat is on "heat", so if it gets cold, the heat turns on. It has kicked on a couple of times in the last few days.

We have 2 seperate zones so I set the temp on th ekids zone so it clicked on last night. DH and I were fine with an extra blanket.

Yes I have...comfortability rules over cost in this house. My house stays colder than most though since I get a lot of shade. Works well in the summer...not so much the winter!

I was going to post this this morning! I guess I should be happy that my thermostat said 67 this morning...I was tempted to put it on but didnt..prob will this week though as it looks like it will be getting colder

i live in an apartment - we slept wtih the windows open last night and woke up at 5am to them turning the heat on...we have no control over it

Not yet. The house was 63 this morning, and I debated putting it on. I know people wait until a certain date to put it on, maybe we will try that. We have oil

I have the heat on. My house is old and tends to be on the cold side. I keep the thermostat at 70 but the heat does not turn in until the house reaches 66.

Yes! I was using the electric fireplace for a few weeks but I started using the heat this past Saturday. I hate being cold inside my own house.

Not yet. I still have the AC on at night. We got an electric fireplace so I am hoping that will let us hold out for a while longer this year. It stopped the thermostat wars between my husband and I last year. Best purchase.
