When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
I just had a relative give back the brownies that we made for them about 3 weeks ago. I'm thinking of course they're garbage at this point but I guess the fact that this person gave them back like we'd still eat them has me wondering how long most people would keep them.
They look fine, I don't see any mold or anything but I'm tossing them regardless. Just wanted to hear other opinions on this.

When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
In this house, if they aren't eaten by like 1 week, they get tossed. I find that the longer time goes on, the chances of them getting eaten greatly reduce lol But you getting them back after 3 weeks has me strange... Lol

I would think they'd be stale and hard as rocks by now, no?

Seriously. They totally just didn't feel like cleaning out your tupperware container.

Re: When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
Hmmm. Now you all have me wondering. I was handed my pan back with brownies in a separate zip lock bag. I was a little confused and said "Are these the brownies we made?" and she said "Yes." I thought it was weird but I figured maybe she was trying not to gain weight (it's a single woman who lives alone). Now I'm thinking maybe she misheard my question.
The brownies look normal and are soft. Maybe they're not the same ones? I'm going to have to investigate this further lol.

Lol thats so weird that she gave them back to you 3 weeks later. I usually toss brownies after 3 or 4 days if they're not eaten by then.

Brownies........2-3 days over here but they never last that long anyway.

My exact thoughts! I'm baffled.....even if I didnt want to eat them, I'd give them to my kids, have DH take them to work, or something.
3 weeks & gave them back?!

Re: When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
Ok, so since they were not hard as rocks I called the person to clarify. She must have misunderstood my question and these are not my original brownies from 3 weeks ago thank God! I'm glad too becuase I was getting a little nervous that they thought they were still good to eat.

Re: When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
I like to get baked goods eaten within 4 days. 5 maybe. I feel like it gets yucky after that.

Re: When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
I generally have a 4 day rule for most leftovers, including most baked goods.
If it's something like brownies or muffins, I will often freeze part of the batch if I know they won't get eaten right away. Most baked goods freeze well.
3 weeks is WAY too long for any leftovers, unless they were frozen.
I also think it's weird that she returned them at all, instead of just giving them away (bringing them to work or something) or tossing them, even. But VERY weird after weeks went by!

I'm still wrapping my brain around this concept of "uneaten brownies". There's such a thing?
It's like when people speak of this thing called "leftover wine".....

When do you toss uneaten homemade brownies?
I feel like brownies get stale and hard QUICKLY - at least mine do. I am really thinking they aren't the same ones.
I'd say 5-7 days max and then i'd toss homemade brownies.
