Is this fair regarding tests?
DS is in 2nd grade. He had a SS test last week and he came home and told me that since a lot of kids had a hard time with 1 section which consisted of 5 questions, the teacher decided not to count it. He said it really wasn't that hard.
He still didn't get it back, but how is this fair for the kids that did get the questions right? Am I missing something?

If the majority of the kids weren't understanding the content, I think it's completely fair. The teacher probably realized she didn't teach it properly, could have taught it another way, etc. etc. I think it's actually quite nice of the teacher. I wouldn't even question this for a second.

I agree too, I think it's kind if big of the teacher. I sometimes have to re-evaluate how I'm teaching a topic if I see my students are having trouble or asking questions. Sometimes it's the way I'm teaching as opposed to the students ability.

That makes sense, thanks. I am not sure how many kids had a hard time though.

I completely agree...the teacher could have realized that the questions weren't worded in the right way, or something like that.
