Potluck Help Needed
I have only been to 1 potluck party before. That one was very organized, there was a spreadsheet that listed what everyone was bringing, so you could figure out what was needed/what you could contribute and you would add yourself to the list so no would duplicate you and bring something else.
I have been invited to a Potluck Thanksgiving Party. Normally I would just bring dessert, but I am leaning away from that for 2 reasons. 1. the only thing the invitation stated was that there will be a cake competition. So it sounds like there will be lots of cakes. and #2. there is someone going who hands down always bring desserts and I'm 99.9% sure he will bring more dessert too.
So here is what I make well and my options:
appetizers:
spinach dip
olive tapenade with sliced bread
stuffed mushrooms
side dish:
cranberry sauce
sweet potato casserole with marshmallows
desserts:
apple pie
sweet potato pie
rainbow cookies
pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream
assorted cookie platter
what would travel best? what should I bring?

to me it would matter what everyone else is bringing - are 10 people bringing apps? then you should bring a side. is everyone bring something carby? then you should bring a veg. etc...

Potluck Help Needed
der, i read this wrong and thought that the spreadsheet was for this one.
i would honestly just make 1 or 2 things that you would want to eat. that way, if the food that's there is all desserts and/or sucks and/or isn't stuff you like you know you will have something to eat!
