Lasagna tips? UPDATE
DH has been complaining he wants lasagna, so since I am home tomorrow I said I would make one. I am not sure I have ever made lasangna before. Anyone have any tips?
UPDATE: Thanks ladies. I made it last night and DH loved it. AND my (very Italian) MIL said that her father made the best lasagne and this tastes just like it! I got a compliment on my cooking from my MIL YAY!!!!! I ended up using the noodles you boil and mixed an egg with the ricotta cheese and some parmesan cheese and parsely. It was very easy, a little messy but fun.

Lasagna tips?
It is important to make sure you do not over cook the pasta-other than that it is straight forward.

Re: Lasagna tips?
This is the only recipe I've ever tried and it's great. I'm actually making a double batch right now to have one for dinner and one to bring to a relative. It freezes great too and I actually usually like the leftovers better.

Use the no boil Ronzoni lasagna and follow the recipe on the box!! It comes out great.

Re: Lasagna tips?
whenever i make lasagna i use the no boil noodles - i believe barilla that makes them
i also cover it with saran wrap and aluminum foil for a majority of the book time to keep the moisture in and towards the end i cook uncovered

Re: Lasagna tips?
I think it's important to use enough sauce (especially with the no boil noodles).
While I love fresh mozzarella, I think regular low-moisture mozz is better for lasagna and other baked dishes, where you want melty cheese. Also, since it's a pretty simple dish, I would make sure you use good quality ingredients (ricotta, etc.)... I am channeling Ina Garten/Barefoot Contessa here! LOL.
Make sure that you let the lasagna "rest" for awhile when it comes out of the oven. It cuts easier when it has time to "set up." I think it's actually better reheated than freshly baked for that reason!

Lasagna tips?
I do a layer of sauce, then no boil noodles, then a ricotta mixture with garlic and herbs, then shredded mozz, then sauteed veggies (mushrooms, onions, spinach, zucchini, etc), then sauce, noodles, etc etc etc. top with mozz and parm
